{puttin' on the ritz}

What I'm wearing:
Navy dress from Forever 21,
belt from Marshalls,
gloves and faux fur coat from Glam-ma Rosenwinkel,
earrings from Allison,
necklace gift from Karen Z,
heels by Soffte from Nora's Shoes
The other night a few of my darling friends threw a 1920's themed surprise party with the works for our friend, Carly! (Be ready for my friends' outfit pictures in my next post). As soon as I heard the theme I started preparing! I searched through my suitcases underneath my bed for my grandma's faux fur coat and pulled out my box of her old white gloves from my dresser drawer. With those two key elements and a rocking pin curl up-do courtesy of my roommate Shannon, all I needed was a staple dress and heels! I went for an all around navy outfit with red accents and some big time fur! Even though I got insanely hot in that monster of a coat, it was a hit! Anytime I wasn't wearing it someone else was. So funny! It was such an amazing night. Everyone went all out in their costumes and Carly was so thrilled!

 Check my next post for more pictures of my fellow flapper gals and swinger guys!

belt and jeans from Forever21,

After my little break from blogging, I'm back! When it is 9 degrees outside, finding the energy to take pictures for my blog is very difficult. Let's just say that my week consisted of dress pants and warm sweaters. But, thankfully today Colorado was back to its normal, wonderful self, 48 and sunny!! Time to break out the sun glasses and strike a pose!

{One year blogiversary}

I can't believe it, but it has been a year! A year of blogging, of being back in the US, and of becoming a high school teacher. I have been so blessed over the past 12 months. From having a life-defining time in Argentina, to experiencing the best student-teaching situation ever, to landing an amazing job as a high school Spanish teacher and branching out on my own, I can't even begin to capture my gratefulness (but I'll try)!

 I want to say thank you to all of you, friends & family, who have been with me during this crazy, yet amazing year of ups & downs. I praise the Lord for the remarkable ups & also for using the low points to mold me into a better woman! With love and loss, we grow & I can see the ways I have grown in the many facets of my life!

{hassle-free heels}

What I'm wearing:
Blouse and jeans from Forever 21,
necklace from Bramble,
earrings (gift),
heels by Sofft from Nora's Shoes
Back to teaching in heels! All of my co-workers were completely shocked that I even bother wearing heels to work, but I swear by these shoes! So comfortable! Sofft is an amazing brand that makes functional heels with insole padding and traction pads on the soles. I was excited to bust out my blue suede shoes!
More amazingly though, I actually made an effort with my hair today! I usually just let it air dry and sometimes run a straightener through the bumpy parts or just let them be. But today, since I'm going to a wedding this weekend, I wanted to test out my hair curling options with the current length. I think its cute, but we'll see what I end up doing. Any opinions?

{¡Viva vibrant!}

Mi hermana, Erika
What I'm wearing:
Skirt from Pitaya,
dress by Lush from Nordstroms,
belt from Anthropologie,
watch by Michael Kors,
& necklace from Francesca's Closet
Hello all! Happy New Year!! Sorry for the short break from posting. I just got back from a wonderful family vacation to Cabo San Lucas, México! While I was there, although I was lucky enough to wear some fun summer outfits, but I didn't get around to taking many blog pictures. I guess it's not a bad problem to have :) Our trip was awesome! Delicious food, surfing, tons of laughter, and warm weather!

In June of last year, both this vibrant red skirt and this striking chartreuse dress were featured in two of my wedding blog posts! While in México, I decided to pair the two together! The fun colors created a flirty dinner outfit with a carmel leather accents. ¡Viva vibrant!
