Recently I've started wearing colorful tights just like elementary school Abbey. Although they aren't cover in flowers and zig-zigs, they are still really fun!

 Here is the story about my locket necklace. Since I was 8, I have had glasses, so my parents decided to get me the American Girl doll Molly who she was basically my twin; Brunette with glasses! Now she is tucked away safely in my parents' basement and her heart-shaped locket that I always thought was lovely is around my neck on a new chain. Yes, my necklace originally belonged to my American Girl doll!

Sorry for slacking a bit on the posting this weekend. Turns out that replacing your hard drive and transferring files/ applications can be a big "quilombo" (as they say in Argentina) aka a huge mess! As of now it appears that my photos from high school and all of college minus Argentina have vanished into thin air, so I'll have to look into that more tomorrow. On the bright-side, the weather is finally getting nice in Colorado, but as many of you know, they "multiple seasons in one day" trait about the foothills can be difficult when getting dressed in the morning!

Although I was very pleased with my outfit as a whole on Friday, my favorite element is definitely my new hand-knit "scarfette" made by my friend, Maura. As you may have noticed before I love mustard yellow! 

On Friday I experienced my first spirit assembly at my high school (or as my Minnesotan roommate says "pep fest"). It was so fun to see my students out of the classroom and representing for our school! I got dragged into doing the school march and was so confused! It was hilarious; During part of it we all got down on one knee and "Tebowed." Gotta love Colorado!

Yes, my skirt is from Goodwill. Hence, the name of my post is paying homage to my love for resale stores. Goodwill, Savers, Salvation Army... all treasure chests if you're willing to take a bit of time. 

My necklace also has a crazy story behind it. When my family went to Spain a few years back, we decided to travel across the straight of Gibraltar to Morocco. During our time there I experienced the street vendors in full-force. My lovely necklace here was the produce of being followed by vendor for about 4 blocks through the small alleys of Tangier. After deciding I didn't want it, he proceed to bargain persistantly with us. In the end, we bought it just to get rid of him. I'm glad we did after all because it is amazing and comes with a great story :)

My favorite element of this outfit is my pocket-watch necklace from my sister. Even though it doesn't work anymore, it is still awesome. Also, leather in Argentina was simply amazing, hence my boots (& bracelet) from Buenos Aires. As for my shirt, I believe this was the first time I have worn a white starched dress shirt in my life! Crazy, right? I have always loved the way they look on other people, but I never had one that fit well. Thanks to the Gap now I look all professional!

On Monday my outfit was a compilation of gifts from friends and family! Two years ago my roommate Heather bought me this mustard yellow scarf for Christmas and I instantly fell in love. Also, on top of it being amazing, it was from Goodwill (aka good price)! My maroon beanie was hand-knit by my friend, Julia. She told me she was willing to take on a knitting challenge and this hat was the remarkable result! Impressive, right? And finally, my mom always buys the best presents, including my favorite Michael Kors watch for Christmas last year and my Steve Maddie bootie heels this year. Thanks for all the gifts ladies!

Mixing browns and blacks can be risky, but I love to wear chestnut leather with just about any color. This outfit was focused around the Italian glass bead necklace my sister bought me when she studied abroad. It felt nice to dress casually last night after a week of working. This is weekend Abbey!

I wore this on Thursday for class and lucky me, that day I got asked out by a high schooler. As a joke my boyfriend thought it would be funny to tell a high schooler that he knows at my school to ask me out! I was so caught off guard and was super embarrassed! I turned so red. Typical! In that moment, I regretted wearing this cosy sweater.

The gray sweater I wore today is extremely versatile. I decided to belt it, but I can also knot it, where it wrapped, etc. The stripped shirt I layered under it is basically what I lived in while I was in Buenos Aires. And finally, my bag is a vintage Coach purse that my mom gave me from her closet. Lucky me!

I got this skirt for Christmas last year and today was one of the first times I've worn it! I am in love. It is so comfortable and I feel so professional! Although the colors are a little unusual, I have tons of things to pair with it which is awesome.

Miraculously my glasses prescription goes up every time I go to the eye doctor. I'm like an old woman! Well, at least it gives me a real reason to get new specs. Visionworks set me and David (my boyfriend/ photographer) up with 2 pairs of glasses for $99. Amazing! Here was my Sunday slumming around and running errands outfit after my church outfit. Belting big shirts and sweaters is so comfy!

One thing I've always loved and probably always will love is turquoise. Natural stones are so beautiful. Blood rubies, sapphires, emeralds, amber... all amazing! Another thing: In these pictures my pants look maroon, but they are actually brown. Weird! Enjoy your long weekends. I think I'll do some painting today :) Chau!

Here is my super sophisticated outfit for school :)  I love this blazer, yet often struggle to find things to pair it with without looking too formal. But now with student teaching, I have a reason to look sharp! I decided to pair the blazer with dark jeans to make my outfit a little more relaxed. For my hair, I used a straightener to put in some texture and pinned one side back.

Bearing the cold of Colorado!

Dark purple is one of my favorite colors, as is forest green and maroon. All of which are present in my cold weather outfit! The snow in Boulder has now started to melt and everyone is preparing for the long weekend. Luckily there is plenty of snow up in the mountains! Enjoy your weekend and go broncos!
