Summer time food is the best! Bratwursts, iced tea, corn on the cob, and baked beans. Yum! Last night I went to a BBQ at my friends' house. We played some frisbee and enjoyed each others company, a pretty laid back summer night. I felt like this outfit was a great hanging around with friends look, especially when there is a cool breeze. My red pants give the look a bright summer feel while keeping you warmer than a pair of shorts. I love bright summer pants! Also, the color is perfect for my denim shirt! Don't want to wear a Canadian Tuxedo ;) The little white polkadots throughout my top are so subtle and cute. I love that they add some contrast!

The last of school throughout the years was always girls opportunity to dress in full out summer gear. Dresses, shorts, tank tops, and sandals! I have to keep the tradition going and wear something full of color! I pulled out this awesome patterned maxi dress and my old jean jacket from my middle school days to create a perfect teach outfit for the last day of school. 

I truly cannot believe that I am done with my first year of teaching. It came and went with a mixture of emotions. With all of the stress, laughter, and hard-work I am so blessed to have finished this year. My students were a handful at times, but I am so thankful for everyone of them. Teaching them has helped me grow as teacher, a co-worker, a friend, and a follower of Christ. I am so grateful for the support I received from my co-workers, my family, and my friends! Looking forward to my second year and all of the adventures that will come along with it. But until then, it is SUMMER!!! Wooohooo!

The last few days have finally felt like summer! Walking down Pearl, I felt like a little flower child with my lace vest and relaxed attitude. Throughout the whole mall, the flowers are springing up with amazing colors. I think its impossible to walk down Pearl and not smile :)

As for my outfit, I bought these teal shorts the other day, hoping to expand my shorts collection away from ripped jean cut offs. I don't usually love shorts, but when its hot out... man, is it nice to have a pair you like! Teal with charcoal gray paired nicely with my light and delicate lace vest. When I originally saw the vest on the street in Buenos Aires, I debated and debated. In the end, I chose to get it because it was such a prevalent style in Buenos Aires and I wanted to remember the style there (and I liked it). And now, lace is huge everywhere! Buenos Aires, estás muy de moda ;)

On the first day of school this year I wore this red bow shirt and now I'm wearing it the last week of classes. I can't believe how this year has flown by!! Soon I won't be wearing these typical teaching get ups and I'll be rocking summer outfits with jean shorts and tank tops. Freedom!

On Saturday, my outfit was an explosion of color! That night, I went to a rockies game, so with the intention of wearing my purple jeans to the game, I found a way to tie them into my outfit during the day. Despite the random colors and various patterns, I love the way this crazy combo turned out! Purple pants, an orange patterned shirt, tan flats, red lips, and a light jean button-up...talk about random, but fun! :)

Recently I have been experimenting with my sewing machine and last Sunday I made this maxi skirt! A simple two stitch skirt with a fold over elastic waist and a stitch at the bottom to keep the fabric from fraying. Since the skirt pattern is kind of busy, I balanced out the top of my look with a dark grey tank top and a magenta cardigan. I think the color combo is uncommon and fun! My white Mark Jacobs watch adds to the spring time feel of the skirt and emphasizes the white strips in the fabric.

As for my skirt, I'm thinking about starting a mini business this summer sewing clothes, bags, and other things, as well as painting TOMS shoes again.  The last of the lovely ladies from my Sunday Brunch is Elyssa! This little lady always looks so snazzy. I love her flowing orange coral skirt with her tank top that ties in the pink subtly. Her outfit is laid back with a clear boost of style! Thanks for modeling for me, Lyssie!

I may get teased a little for my love of jean vests, but look how nicely it changes up this summer dress! It adds a little contrast and another texture. I am not ashamed! :) My mom sent me these grey oxfords with pink soles for Valentine's day. She is the best personal shopper a girl could ask for. Despite my love for clothes and my  desires to have personal style, I am so thankful for my mom's suggestions about my outfits and her additions to my wardrobe! Thanks for the kicks, Mom!
