headband from Electric Fetus, purse from garage sale,

Yesterday I wasn't particularly pleased with my work outfit, so I decided to feature my adorable roommate Heather, that little hippie! Recently she has been trying to incorporate orange into her wardrobe because she's always disliked it! I love her orange accessories in this outfit.
Also for her turquoise bracelet, her mom's friend, Kath, made it custom for Heather! Here is her link if you want to check it out!

{shades of chocolate}

What I'm wearing:
Blouse from Lucky Brand, cardigan by Moth
and pants from Anthropology, flats by ecole
from Urban Outfitters, gem necklace from Bramble,
heart locket (gift), & linen jacket (boutique in L.A.)

For my outfit today, I went for a neutral look. I like that my outfit has a bunch of shades of brown in it or should I say shades of "chocolate." Milk chocolate, dark belgian chocolate, & white chocolate. Browns & tans with lace detailing make this outfit very simple, yet feminine. Its exciting that I can finally roll up my pants a bit without my ankles freezing in the Colorado wind. Spring break is "just around the river bend!"

{floral focus}

What I'm wearing:
Cardigan from Gap, t-shirt from Pitaya,
scarf from Argentina, necklace from Bramble,
jeans by Citizens of Humanity, boots from Steve Madden,
& watch by Marc Jacobs

One week until spring break, so I'm busting out the floral! It wasn't as warm in Colorado today, as it was this weekend, but now that I'm in spring mode there is no going back. Recently I realized how obsessed I am with the bright red color of my cardigan. I now own a tank top, a cardigan, a long skirt, & a v-neck, all in that exact shade of red.

What color have you loved to wearing recently?

Shamrock Shaped Cupcakes
What you'll need!

Add food coloring to your favorite cupcake mix.

Make tin foil balls & place 3 in each holder to make shamrock shape.

Spoon batter into foil cups.

Bake for a little bit short than recommended time
due to the shape.

It's time to ice & sprinkle them!
Be creative with the icing colors.

Now onto to making dinner!
Corned beef & cabbage
Here is my family's recipe for this traditional
Irish meal!

Corned Beef:
3-4 lbs (12 inches) with flavoring packet
2 lbs of carrots
Potatoes (2 per person)
1 head of cabbage (cut into 6ths)
----------------------------
Fill big pot with water to cover beef.
Boil on simmer for 2 hours. Take meat out and put on a plate.

Put potatoes and carrots in at 2 hour mark for 25 minutes.
Salt it after tasting.
Put cabbage in for 20 minutes with the same juice
as the meat & potatoes.
Put beef back in for 5 minutes.

Finally got me some red pants! I literally have been stalking down people on Pinterest to figure how to wear red pants and I bought a pair last week at Urban. I decided to go with a dark shirt and my gray blazer to tone it down. I also matched the brown leathers in my belt & shoes. I was a little hot today with the amazing weather, but it was worth it to wear my new pants!!

Shannon's teaching outfit

What Shannon's wearing:
Dress from Target, cardigan (borrowed), &

How crazy is this summer weather all throughout the country. In Colorado yesterday is was in the 70's, so I decided to where my Patagonia dress and my Key Lime sweater from Anthropology. I love mixing a summer dress with cowboy boots. It makes me feel southwestern :)
As for my roomies, how cute are they!? Rachel definitely received major hipster points for her amazing mix-make masters piece yesterday.  I loved how she paired bright pants with a jean shirt and neutral shoes. Shannon has an adorable outfit on for teaching. Teal and tan complement each other well in this outfit! Good work friends!
