{Sunday Brunch: Alex}

What Alex is wearing:
Blouse from Goodwill,
skirt from Urban Outfitters,
nacklace (gift), belt from Target,
& flats from Goodwill
For the next few posts, I will be featuring a few blogs of my adorable friends and their outfits from a Sunday Women's Brunch that our church held. Everyone there was insanely beautiful, both inside and out! I wanted to capture their beauty and contagious joy in photos for my blog :) Alex is the first of my fashionable friends to be featured from Sunday. Al can wear just about anything and make it look lovely. Here, I adore everything about her outfit: the detailing in her blouse, the colors in her necklace, the deep maroon color of her skirt, and her meaningful tattoo peaking out of her adorable loafers found at Goodwill. Alex's outfit is a great balance between feminine and edgy. It embraces her creative style!
In addition to the fashion part of Sunday, more importantly I want to fill you all in on what he discussed at the brunch. That morning we were welcoming Elena, a faithful, kind, and strong woman from Juarez, Mexico, to Boulder. She blessed us with her story and shared the hope that she has for her city. Elena started the Teen Challenge in Juarez, giving a home, a loving community, and new hope to women and girls who are trapped in addiction and prostitution. In the past 40 years, 1000 girls have been brought to salvation through Elena's support and her ministry! Hallelujah!

{ocean minded}

What I'm wearing:
Skirt from Forever 21,
t-shirt by Frenchie,
ruby necklace from Gem,
locket (gift), watch by Michael Kors,
& flip flips by Ocean Minded
The warmer it gets the more Colorado morphes into Cali. Looking around at people on campus the other day I realized, if you were to drop someone down in the middle of CU campus and point their view away from the mountains, they would assume they were in California. Bro tanks, board shorts, girls in flip flops, bikini tops, high waisted ripped jeans, and more! I rarely wear jean shorts or flip flops, but on Friday as soon as I was off of work the flip flops came out. I finally found a pair I like thanks to a free $50 gift card to Crocs. A friend of mine is an avid college basketball fan and often times when you go to every game, schools have loyalty programs with free prizes. In this case, Zach won a free $50 Crocs gift card and asked me come along to help him pick out a pair. Not tearing down people that enjoy a nice pair of Crocs, but I will never buy a pair and was torn in assisting in the purchase of a pair for Zach.  After about a half hour of searching the store, Zach set his eyes on a pair of Ocean Minded flip flops (realizing the garden crocs weren't his style). He bought them and with the extra $25, he asked me if I wanted a pair of shoes. When I told Zach that I wasn't about to buy a pair of Crocs and that I rarely wear flip flops, he insisted in getting me these as an "early birthday present" with hopes of transforming me into a flip flop addict like himself. Haha Nothing like a free pair of shoes! Thanks, CU basketball!

{gray on a "not so gray" day}

What I'm wearing:
Dress and belt from Anthropologie,
cardigan from Forever 21,
flats and long brass necklace from Urban Outfitters,
watch by Michael Kors,
ruby necklace from Gem in Oak Park, IL
Although both my sweater and dress are shades of gray, yesterday was the complete opposite! Sunny skies and warm weather inspired me to wear a dress to work. I think the two different tones of gray compliment each other well and that whole outfit is brought together with the brown leather accents.

{the snow is melting}

What I'm wearing:
Sweater by from Urban Outfitters,
skirt from Old Navy,
tights from Target,
belt from Forever 21,
boots by Frye Boots,
watch by Michael Kors
After weeks of constant snow, it is finally melting! And by snow, I mean blizzards that threatened for snow days daily with no luck. Therefore, when the sun cam out I had to wear a skirt. Tights were still necessary, but they ended up tying in nicely to my sweater. I tried on this sweater at Urban a while ago, but decided against getting and then months later I was in the sale section and found this little gem again for over fifty percent off! Balancing a light sweater with a jean skirt was perfect for the nice weather on Wednesday in Colorado.

{high gear}

What I'm wearing:
Sweater from Gap,
scarf from Urban Outfitters,
jeans by American Eagle,
boots by Frye,
earrings (hand me down),
blue ring by W.A.R. Jewelry,
& ring (gift from my sister)
I'm still here, I promise! The end of the school year is already kicking up into high gear and I have been crazy busy. As the weather gets nicer, I really want to try to post more. Since I get dressed everyday anyways, hopefully I'll be able to motivate myself to take pictures as well :)
