{photo shoot}

What I'm wearing:
Blouse & belt from Forever 21,
earrings from Target,
jean from American Eagle,
bracelet gift from Gem,
boots by Clona; purchased in Argentina,
necklace (hand-me-down),
In the past year, I have taken pictures for my blog in a number of awesome settings, as well as a lot of the same old, same old. I am always so thankful when my friends are willing to take pictures for me and want to venture into new parts of town to find a new brick wall or an amazing angle along side the creek. Today I was so fortunate to have my friend, Steven Wade, photographing me and if you haven't already observe in the pictures, he is a wonderful photographer. Steven brought his pro-gear and set up these shots beautifully. I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out! Thanks, Steven!!

As for my outfit, I love the contrast of my tan coat with this rich maroon blouse. The focus of this outfit truly is the wine tinted slouchy top. So, hoping to not overpower my blouse, I paired it with simple, yet complementing emerald green earrings and a long double wrapped necklace.

And if you were wondering my answer to my co-worker's sassy question: No, I am not wearing my dad's shirt ☺

{my new cloche cap}

What I'm wearing:
Cardigan by Red from TjMaxx,
jeans from American Eagle,
belt from Goodwill,
boots by Boemos from Marshalls,
t-shirt by Frenchi from Nordstrom,
hat from Target
When I was elementary school I always wore bucket hats with little cartoons of the Tasmanian Devil and Mickey Mouse. After years of wanting a sassy little hat like this, I found this adorable cloche hat on super sale at Target and was brought back to my childhood with a little bit more style! I didn't wear the hat at work, but after school with the cold weather, I loved the way it tied together the black in my outfit and wore it for the rest of the afternoon. Outside of a cute coffee place in my town the fun orange chairs matched my cardigan and provided a fresh setting!

{Emerald Blazer}

What I'm wearing:
Blazer from H&M,
pants from Target,
blouse from Banana Republic,
boots by Boemos from Marshalls,
watch by Michael Kors,
& earrings from Grandma
I love emerald! I'm not sure if it is my green eyes, the way to looks with gold jewelry, or simply the color on its own, but I think emerald is one of the most beautiful and daring colors out there! I have been wanting a colorful blazer for a while and stumbled upon this little gem at H&M (pun intended). I love pairing greens with gold and I thought the caramel boots tied the whole outfit together nicely. Wearing emerald makes me feel bright & positive. I became obsessed with it my senior year of high school and would not rest until I found an emerald prom dress! In honor of throw back thursday, I grace you all with a photo of my prom dress! Don't make fun of my awkwardness... #tbt

{denim day}

What I'm Wearing:
Leather coat by Michael Kors from Nordstrom Rack,
jean blouse from Argentina,
black jeans by U-51 from Marshalls,
flats by Charles David,
tank from Target,
watch by Michael Kors,
earrings from Grandma
Nothing is more relaxing than walking around outside when it's the 50s and painting pottery with my roommate (I'll post pictures once its done firing)! Yesterday was a very laid back day, which I think was reflected in my outfit. I remember when I was living in Argentina jean shirts were so popular, which was obvious by their prices. After looking in many stores throughout Buenos Aires, I finally found this shirt that was adorable and in my price range! I went for it and I am so glad I did because it is one of my favorite staples now. Sometimes I even rock the Canadian tuxedo, jean on jean ;) Here I'm actually wearing jeans, but they are black!

{love repeats}

Happy Valentine's Day!!
Yes, I am doing a bit of a repeat from last year and I love it! After making this hand-sewn heart elbow patch sweater last year, I wanted so badly to wear it again! My goal was to make my outfit completely different, which I feel like I did successfully with the exception of my gold watch (of course). Here is the link if you want to check it out. Valentines day 2012: http://gailbeth.blogspot.com/2012/02/valentines-day.html  I chose to wear red skirt this year to bring out the red in my sweater patches!

By Day:

By Night:
(As it snows!)
What I'm wearing:
Sweater by Banana Republic from
Plato's Closet with
hearts hand-sewn by me,
skirt from Forever21,
boots by Unity from Famous Footwear,
necklace & earrings from grandma Rosenwinkel,
watch by Michael Kors,
& lipstick by Covergirl "See Red"
From my work day at school to my dinner date with my roomie, I decided to change up my outfit! With a simple hair band and my red lipstick, my look became more vintage classy and less classroom.

{my first set of pearls}

What I'm wearing:
Blazer by Silence + Noise from Urban Outfitters,
striped shirt by BGD from Urban Outfitters,
pants from Gap,
flats by Liz Claiborne from DSW,
pearls from my grandma Rosenwinkel,
watch by Michael Kors
All of my life I have never been a "pearls girl" with the exception of costume jewelry. Some girls wear pearl earrings as a staple or a tiny pearl necklace to look classy or formal, but not me. No tiny pearl necklaces or pearl studs for this little lady. I always put them into the "preppy" category of fashion and let them stay there. As you know from other blog posts, my grandma Rosenwinkel was a total glamour queen who had more jewelry than she knew what to do with. So when she passed away last year in May, my sisters and I inherited some lovely jewelry, some of which was costume jewelry and some nicer items too. This necklace was my first "pearl" necklace that I have owned and I'm happy to say I got it from my glam-ma. I decided to wear my pearls to help make my basic striped t-shirt a little nicer looking with my charcol gray blazer and black dress pants. Thanks, glam-ma!

{Sea Red}

What I'm wearing:
Blouse by Olive & Oak from TjMaxx,
jeans from Forever 21,
boots by BGD from Urban Outfitters,
earrings & earrings (gift),
watch by Michael Kors,
& lipstick by Cover Girl "See Red"
On Sunday, I decided to wear red lips all day! I was feeling kind of sassy and with the flowy top and boyish boots, I wanted to make my outfit a little bit more feminine. This fall I bought this shade of red lipstick and one thing I really love about it is the ability to wear it during the day. A lot of red lip shades seem more formal, but "See Red" by the Cover Girl Queen collection is easy to wear anytime of day. I love the contrast of the dark navy blue and the "See Red" lips. The whole outfit has a nautical feel to it making it more like "Sea Red."

{making cards, spreading love}

Today I don't have a fashion post for you since my day consisted of breakfast with friends, watching Sound of Music on my couch, and crafting up some Valentine's day cards while snow flakes sprinkled the air outside. During all of which I was wearing sweats and a flannel, hence the missing pictures of me :) But, it was a lovely day. I love hand-making cards and gifts. To me, it seems like a simple way to spread love to the people I care about.
Here are a few of my finished products!
