Here is my lovely roommate, Alex, before church on Sunday! What a complete doll.

I love her pairing of lacy white, mustard yellow, and brilliant blue tights. 

All of the colors contrast so beautifully with her dark brown hair and natural beauty. Then, to top it all off, Alex's boyfriend, Cameron, is a pretty snazzy dresser as well. I couldn't resist taking some photos of these lovebirds outside in the warn Colorado sun!

Since I was in 8th grade, I have wanted this exact sweater. The color, the knit, the fit. I read a book where the main character bought her boyfriend "a thick and luxurious moss green cashmere V-neck sweater." He was her first love and she had sewn a gold heart into the sleeve of the sweater. I know this isn't "moss green," but for some reason, this is exactly how I pictured the sweater and forever the image was engraved in my mind. The other day as I was walking out of Target, I spotted it. I tried it on right there in the middle of the store and knew I had to buy it to fulfill my teenage dream of owning "Nate's sweater." And, let me tell you, I am so glad I got it. Wearing it today made me feel cozy and ready for the colder weather! 

I decided to pair it with some fun autumn colors, pulling it over a dress I own. I wanted to avoid looking overly preppy, but I'm not sure if I accomplished that. Oh well, it was a comfy fall outfit!

{Día de los muertos}

As a Spanish teacher, you have to take advantage of the

fun cultural celebrations and beautiful traditions practiced

all over the Spanish-speaking world.

Last week on November 1st & 2nd, my classes celebrated

Dia de los muertos, a holiday that remembers family

members who have passed away by celebrating the life they lived!

In honor of this holiday my classes made calavera (skull)

masks and rocks! I decided to go all out and paint my face like

a calavera sugar skull.

Fall is my favorite time of year. The leaves are changing, people are all bundled up, and the brisk air wakes you for beautiful autumn days. Recently, I have been fully embracing fall fashion at work. Today I was tempted with wear my new autumn hue jacket all day. And to my surprise, we had a fire drill at the end of the day and since I was so cold after it, I actually wore it during my 7th period class :)

With my busy work schedule, new things ahead of me for next year, and the everyday madness of life, I haven't been blogging much (as you may have noticed). I am doing really well, but I find myself stepping back on occasion and realizing how quickly life continues on. With the help of rest, good friends, quality conversations, and prayer, I get through my days and trust that the Lord in using me in everything I do, not matter how big or small and no matter how organized or unorganized! And I am so thankful for all of it!

Swept away in the flood of life.

Looking back through my older posts, it is crazy that it has been over a month since I last posted. With my job and my new coaching position at school, I almost never have time to take pictures of my outfits like normal. Not to mention when I get home at 7pm I'm usually in my coaching attire rather than my cute work outfit. When I first started coaching, tons of kids told me they didn't recognize me when I wasn't wearing my "teacher clothes!" I wanted to write to give an update on why I haven't posting recently. Good news though, I'm back now!

In addition to my normal daily schedule, the floods in Boulder made my life insane for a bit. With the flood damage on our school, on the roads near by, and on a number of students' homes, the district decided to close the schools to give time for relief to happen. Luckily, my home was not affected by the floods. Although one night I did have a little scare as the water was rising outside in my parking lot due to an overflow from a stream 3 feet from my apartment that splits off from the Boulder Creek. Fortunately, the rising stream never made it into the basement of my apartments, so all the relief work I have done was in south Boulder.

I have posted a number of pictures, so you all can see the impact this flood has had on my city. Please keep Boulder in your prayers! Ask that people's homes may be restored, just as my faith in humanity has been restored through generous relief efforts. Pray for the rain to hold off and for the Boulder Creek to lower from its raging 5,000 cfs. One thing I have been reminded of in all of this madness is that "the rain WILL fall and the floods WILL come, but we have a firm foundation in Jesus" and He has come to rescue us! I have hope in that!
