{looking on the bright side}

What I'm wearing:
Dress by Lush from Nordstrom,
sweater by Indigenous,
belt from Anthropologie,
scarf from Marshalls,
boots by Boemos from Marshalls
On this strange foggy day, I thought a bright outfit would lift my spirits. I bought this dress for a summer wedding, but when paired with a neutral sweater, a scarf, and some warm tights it is great for a snowy February day! It is always fun discovering the versatility in dresses that you've owned for years.

{orange & blue}

What I'm Wearing:
Sweater from BP,
skirt from Target,
boots by Boemos from Marshalls,
tights from Forever 21,
necklace from Francesca's Closet,
& watch by Michael Kors

With the cold night and limited hours of sunlight after work, I have been slacking on my posts this winter. But, in honor of the amazing Denver Broncos, I have been sporting orange and blue everyday this week (which I thought was worth documenting). Through the years, all of my teams have either been orange and blue or black and gold, so supporting the Broncos is very easy with my wardrobe.  Today was one of my "more professional" spirited outfits (the others include vintage broncos logos and big hair bows). I love this clunky necklace. The huge beaded flowers do make a statement while the color adds a neutral element to the piece that makes it easy to wear with anything!

On the note of my recent hiatus: Recently while reflecting on my second anniversary of blogging, I decided for the rest of the school year to try to post at least once a week. When I first started in January of 2012, I took photos almost everyday with the help of gracious friends and a little bit more energy. I still love having my blog and I'm hoping to get back into posting more often! Maybe it'll even be my new year's resolution. Hopefully it sticks!

{thankful for the land and the lake}

What I'm wearing:
Sweater by Indigenous,
flannel (thrifted),
jeans from Forever 21,
boots by Steve Madden,
wool socks from REI
Simple, cozy, and fully of joy: Threes ways that I would describe my Thanksgiving. I know its late to post this and now we are coming up on Christmas, but I figured better late than never, right? Spending my Thanksgiving break up in the wondrous forests of Michigan along side the breath-taking lake is my idea of the perfect weekend. I'm so thankful that my parents have instilled a love for Michigan in my heart and for the time I had to spend with my family. Our home is by far my favorite place in the world! Whenever we are there, its flannels, comfy sweaters, and boots everyday. I feel like this outfit basically summed up my trip.

{lovely in lace}

Here is my lovely roommate, Alex, before church on Sunday! What a complete doll.
I love her pairing of lacy white, mustard yellow, and brilliant blue tights.
All of the colors contrast so beautifully with her dark brown hair and natural beauty. Then, to top it all off, Alex's boyfriend, Cameron, is a pretty snazzy dresser as well. I couldn't resist taking some photos of these lovebirds outside in the warn Colorado sun!
What Alex is wearing:
Dress from Maurice's,
belt from Target,
tights from Goodwill,
socks from target,
& boots by Anne Klein

{ "the green sweater" }

What I'm wearing:
Sweater by Merona from Target,
dress by fun 2 fun,
tights from Target,
& boots by Boemos from Marshalls
Since I was in 8th grade, I have wanted this exact sweater. The color, the knit, the fit. I read a book where the main character bought her boyfriend "a thick and luxurious moss green cashmere V-neck sweater." He was her first love and she had sewn a gold heart into the sleeve of the sweater. I know this isn't "moss green," but for some reason, this is exactly how I pictured the sweater and forever the image was engraved in my mind. The other day as I was walking out of Target, I spotted it. I tried it on right there in the middle of the store and knew I had to buy it to fulfill my teenage dream of owning "Nate's sweater." And, let me tell you, I am so glad I got it. Wearing it today made me feel cozy and ready for the colder weather!
I decided to pair it with some fun autumn colors, pulling it over a dress I own. I wanted to avoid looking overly preppy, but I'm not sure if I accomplished that. Oh well, it was a comfy fall outfit!
