{trivia night}

What I'm wearing:
Dress by from TjMaxx,
belt from Goodwill,
flats from Urban Outfitters,
earrings from Grandma Rosenwinkel,
watch by Michael Kors,
ruby ring from Grandpa Wavering.
The other night, some friend's and I went to trivia night at a bar in Chicago. Everyone loves a good trivia night, right? With the humidity at every hour of the day, this flowy dress was perfect for keeping me cool! I love the detailing in the lace of this dress. At first, I was a little unsure about the unique back, but the cut definitely grew on me. As for the color of this dress... Trivia question: What color is described as the color halfway between green & yellow? Hint: It is a French word.

Answer: Chartreuse :)

{South Haven Honey}

What Taylor's wearing:
Dress by Angie from Renaissance,
sandals by Patagonia,
earrings by a folk artist in Seattle,
& ring from art fair in South Haven
when we were 12 :)
South Haven is a cute little town with an amazing Dairy Queen & a simple movie theater. Perfect for summer vacations and Michigan cottages! One of my favorite stores in town is Renaissance, where Taylor bought this precious ruffly teal dress! We have both been visiting Michigan since we were little girls since our families' own lake houses near South Haven. Therefore, area is very dear to our hearts. It was so fun spending time with her :)

{pretty in pink}

What I'm wearing:
Blouse from Paper Crane from Marshalls (gift from mom),
jeans by American Eagle,
belt from Goodwill, ring by Jamie Joseph,
bracelet by (gift from mom & dad)
flats by ecoté from Urban Outfitters,
earrings from Francesca's Closet,
& necklace by Judy Brandon
Although I was almost dying of heat stroke when I wore these pants, they sure looked cute with my new pink floral blouse. I'm not much of a pink girl (if you haven't noticed), but I received this blouse as a gift  and love the tiny blue flowers & the overall fit. The hints of blue allowed for me to wear my Jamie Joseph ring without being to matchy-matchy.
Where was I going, you ask? Antiquing with my cousin, Olivia, and with great success, I might add! I found an old 48-star American flag, a tea-length skirt (which will be on my blog soon), and other little goodies.

{Modern Day Pocahontas}

What Erika's wearing:
Dress from ,
belt from Goodwill (borrowed from me),
& bracelets by David Yurman & Tiffany's
This lovely lady is my sister, Erika! I love her style because she ties in splashes of color with dark grays & blacks. Living in the windy city, she always looks trendy and ready for anything. The detailing in this dress is to die for! With her simple jewelry and side braid wraps, the dress is balanced out very nicely. She reminds me a little of a modern day Pocahontas ;)

{plaid pretty}

What I'm wearing:
Lace dress from Urban Outfitters,
plaid shirt by Volcom (gift from Aunt Marie),
necklace by Judy Brandon Jewelry,
& ruby bracelet by Kathy Reller (gift from mom & dad)

Who needs a cardigan when you have flannel??? My Aunt Marie bought me this cute plaid shirt for my birthday and I've already worn it three times. In this outfit, I loved the contrast between feeling girly with my lace dress and also pretending I'm a lumberjack in the woods! ;)

{fourth fashion}

What Olivia's wearing:
Scarf from CJ Banks (gift),
shorts from Kohl's,
blouse & shoes from Savers,
& earrings from Forever 21

On the fourth, everybody in my family suited up in their American-pride apparel. My cousin, Olivia, put together this adorable vintage look with red Keds and a matching scarf. She is a master thrifter and antiquer, so we shared that passion while shopping in South Haven. I love her look here because it is very 1960's beach girl. The Beach Boys would be proud!

{down at the harbor}

Down at the harbor
What I'm wearing:
T-shirt by Frenchi from Nordstroms,
scarf from Salvation Army,
sunglasses by RayBan, necklace from M. Santana,
shorts by American Eagle from Plato's Closet,
& flats by Ecoté from Urban Outfitters.

The fourth of July holiday was a marathon of red, white, & blue for me. The days leading up to the fourth were just as patriotic as the actual day. I got this cute patterned scarf at Goodwill in Colorado, knowing I wanted to wear it for Independence Day (or the day before). I like this outfit because it is very relaxed, perfect for strolling around South Haven with my family and sitting on the dock; Then, later on, a barefoot blue jean night!
