{new specs}

No big photo shoot from yesterday's outfit since I didn't have time,
 but I did get some new Calvin Klein glasses that I wanted to show off.
Hope you like them!

{combining elements}

What I'm wearing:
Sweater by Eastside/Westside,
pants from Target,
flats by Charles David,
necklace from Francesca's Closet,
watch by Michael Kors,
& earrings from grandma
Something I love to do when picking an outfit in the morning is combine various different elements together. Bold combinations can sometimes be a risk, but are so much fun! To add some flavor to my grey and white sweater, I decided to wear a necklace that one of my students described as "muy abstracto"-- Nice use of Spanish!

{"history of polka dots"}

What I'm wearing:
Sweater by Volcom,
skirt (hand me down),
belt from Anthropologie,
necklace from Urban Outfitters,
earrings from Grandma Rosenwinkel,
oxford shoes by Steve Madden
When I was in high school, "Legally Blonde" was a family favorite (even with my dad). When ever I wear polka dots I think of the line from the admissions counselor when she said, "Harvard won't be impressed that you aced History of Polka Dots..." In this outfit I paired this classic skirt with a clean, v-neck sweater along with some leather accents. Did I ace it? Haha. I hope so!

{cold weather red-y}

What I'm wearing:
Dress from H&M,
necklace from J.Crew,
heels from Nine West,
lipstick by Cover Girl,
earrings borrowed from mom,
tan jacket from J.Crew
Before Lauren's wedding, I was shopping around for some teaching clothes and I stumbled upon this vibrant red dress at H&M. I loved the little top skirt & the fit, so I decided to buy it although I wasn't sure if red would be appropriate for a fall wedding. With the help of some black peep toes, sheer tights, and a bold necklace, this bright red dress transformed into "cold weather red-y."
Feel free to comment!

{The Peña Wedding}

Over the weekend I flew home to Chicago
to see my family and attended Lauren & Emmanuel's wedding.
Our family has know Lauren's family since we were
toddlers and my sister Erika was one of her bridesmaids.
 Seeing Lauren marry Emmanuel, the
man of her dreams, this weekend was an event filled with so
many wonderful memories and so much joy. I am so blessed
to have been able to join them in their celebration!
Congratulations, Lauren & Emmanuel!

{All Hallow's Eve}

With the amount of tacky halloween themed clothes
this week, I figured posting blogs wasn't necessary.
Between pumpkin tights & skeleton earrings, I love going all out
for holidays, especially with my costumes. My roommate, Shannon, and I wanted to
wear our hand-made cloaks, so we decided on a scary costume this year.
With the help of some black dresses, shimmery eye shadow,
and vampire blood, we slowly transformed into the
Volterra vampires from Twilight. Here are some fun pictures
 of me and my friends celebrating Halloween this weekend. Enjoy!

With Bella & Edward, of course!

Adorable Little Jellyfish
The Gingerbread Man haha!
Epic Fruit Ninja Battle
Dorothy & Glinda the Good Witch
And finally my #1 favorite of Saturday Night: Cat Lady
